Hi from Japan. Here are a few short thoughts this week.
Money

"The only part about what you do that matters is what matters to other people who aren’t you. Once you know what they want, highlight it and tell them why you’re suited to solve their problem. The easier you make their decision, the more obvious the choice their purchase will be."

"Most people claim they want to be an influencer, but the truth is that they’d be happier with a simple life, impacting the lives of their customers, making a good living, and enjoying their spare time with family and friends. But everybody’s different. Some want to work hard and make as big an impact as possible, and others are happy to do their thing in their quiet corner of the world. Neither person’s right, and neither person’s wrong. What’s universally true is that nobody you don’t know will be impressed if you ignore social media and focus on real-life humans for a while. In our backward world, what’s bad for our ego is often great for our wallet."

The best thing you can do for your kids is actively increase their surface area for good habits to hit them.
Work out where they can watch.
Let them see you reading books, not doomscrolling on your phone.
Cook real food together.
Go for walks after.
Do hard things. Fail. Tell them about it.
You can literally just do things in front of them. And the more you do, the more they'll copy what they saw.

"The ability to focus is one of humanity’s greatest assets. It is at the core of all human success and endeavor, because the ability to concentrate is what helps a person manifest their goals in life."
-Dandapani from The Power of Unwavering Focus
Relationships

I don't think people really appreciate just how hard it is to have a great marriage in your 40s with kids and a career.
Being in love in your 20s is important, but not impressive.
Being in love in your 40s is impressive.
It showcases commitment, patience, and the daily decision to choose each other.

A few things or people I like and recommend
My friend Carrie created a free guide for people who know they have so much to offer the world but freeze when it's time to actually start building. If you've been sitting on an idea, grab it here: https://gift.carrieolsenvo.
Most personal development advice tells you to do more and push harder. My friend James Laughlin has seen where that quietly breaks high performers. His #1 international best-selling book Habits of High Performers is a practical guide to habits that actually stick, without burnout. Get your copy at https://thehabitbook.com/
The Obvious Choice is over a year old
Time flies. Wild that it's already been a year. Sometimes I forget about Choice because Unhinged Habits came out so soon after.
The book continues to find its footing. With 230 Amazon reviews and an amazing 4.9 star ranking, it's finding it's place firmly onto recommended reading lists for anybody with a small business and/or coaching business.
Grab your copy to learn how to make more profit without obsessing over maddening algorithms.
Coach. Author. World explorer. But mostly, Dad.
