Happy 5-Reps Friday!

Before we begin, I wanted to tell you about my podcast, The Obvious Choice. It's ramping up and I invite you to listen.

Below are two recent episodes you may find interesting. I've linked them to Spotify but they are available anywhere you enjoy podcasts:

17| AI Will be Changing How You Coach
19| Being More Than a Nuts and Bolts Coach

Moving on, here are 2 coaching concepts, 2 business nuggets, and a quote to consider this week.

2 Coaching Concepts

1.

Use the 'sandwich effect' to build better workout programs.

a) Begin every workout the same way.
b) End every workout with something fun, engaging, or easy.

Familiarity makes it easier for a client to get going.

Recency bias makes them excited to come back.

2.

Change is hard.

When you sign up a client to your coaching, you’re asking them to commit to making a change.

Money's often used as an objection. But it's not the real one.

The real objection to overcome is convincing a person that now is the right time to make the change. If you can do that, you’ll be surprised as how quickly people tend to find the money. But it’s hard to do, because change is hard.

2 Business Nuggets

1.

If you’re over busy, the solution isn't a productivity tool, trick, or hack––it’s to figure out what you shouldn’t be doing, and to stop doing it.

---

2.

What you do doesn't matter to a client unless you know what they want to achieve.

Selling is coaching. And coaching is best done through curiosity. The better your questions, the better your coaching, and the easier it will be to sell.

Paint the picture for the client.

"In 3 years, what clothes are you wearing?"

"Who are you with?"

"What's your day like?"

Once you know what they want you can tell them why you're well-positioned to help.

1 Quote to Consider

"Making a difference requires authenticity.

Authenticity isn't hard.

What's hard is trusting that our authentic self is enough."
