4 YEARS AGO I STARTED THIS WEBSITE at night in my one-bedroom apartment in Toronto.
In 2015 this site had 4.28 million views and as of today the Facebook page boasts 206,121 fans.
That’s insane, want to know why?
There’s only 300,000 English speaking personal trainers in the world.
And while I’m able to derive a healthy income from the site what makes me most proud is the impact that it’s had.
An Indian cert just bought 500 copies of Ignite the Fire. I’ve spoken across Europe, met with trainers in Iceland, and been contacted by a trainer in Kenya who is using the material found here to bring fitness to his neighborhood.
All of this started in a one-bedroom apartment at night after a long day of training by a 24 year old guy with no connections, very little money, and a dream to make an impact.
All of this happened by doing great work and mastering the ability to have that work find it’s audience.
That’s why today I’m ecstatic to finally announce that my highly-anticipated book teaching my theories and application is available. It’s called Viralnomics and is available in paperback, Kindle, and Audio all around the world:
Note: Using the above links you can navigate to the Kindle and audio versions. The book is available on Amazon around the world so if you’re outside of the states or UK please search via your local Amazon.
Some early reviewers have called Viralnomics my best work to date (even better than Ignite).
I don’t like to compare. They are totally different books.
That said, I was happy when the foremost expert on “viral” in the world, Jonah Berger (author of the NYT Bestselling book Contagious: Why Things Catch On and professor at the Wharton School of Business) had this to say about the book:
“A refreshing look at social media, influence and the behavioral science behind it all. A must-read for anyone who wants to win at social.”– Jonah Berger (NYT Bestselling author of Contagious: Why Things Catch On)
I also just got the following email from the CEO of Precision Nutrition, Dr. John Berardi:
Here’s the thing:
If you already do great work it’s your responsibility to figure out how to get word of you to spread. (And yes this applies to neighborhood in-person trainers just as much as trainers who aspire to brand themselves online.)
Understanding and knowing how to apply this material is the only weapon that we have to combat the spammers, scammers, and cookie-cutter program-giving Insta-trainers giving this industry a bad name.
But you’ve been deceived.
Marketing these days is not about appealing to your consumer, as weird as it might sound to hear that. You need to appeal to fellow experts because they are the ones who will spread word about you if you do it right.
Marketing is also not about designing the “best” page, finding the “best” apps, or A/B testing Facebook ads.
The importance of the buttons you push pales in comparison to your ability to get users to want to push them, and to talk about you.
I want to give you the confidence to spread your brilliance knowing that even though you may not be doing the “best thing”, if that even exists, what you’re doing is moving you forward because, after all, there are two rules to success:
Rule #1: Do a great job
Rule #2: Make sure that everybody knows about it
In Viralnomics you’ll learn how to attract, appeal to, and foster relationships with those who will share your info. It will teach you how to establish your network and create content to spread purposefully through it, finding more of your ideal customers.
This book was a passion project and I want to share it with you. Teaching the material in it is not my business (the PTDC is) but I felt like it would be selfish to keep my research and tactics to myself.
So here it is, my work all laid out for you … with cartoons.
I hope it helps you,
