Do Cardio, Keep Your Gains -- Tony Gentilcore, T-Nation

The fitness pendulum seems to have swung from one extreme to another in the last 40 years when it comes to cardio. Aerobic training went from being the bees knees through the 1980s to being condemned as a gainz killer in the 1990s and 2000s. It may be time, however, to turn to a more moderate approach, where both "cardio" and HIIT have their place. This week, Tony Gentilcore makes the case for low-intensity cardio work as a regular component in your fitness programming. The key, though, "is not to overdo things in terms of volume and intensity." In other words, it's not a race -- it's about well-balanced heart health, better recovery ability, and a more efficient body overall.
