My personal OTC experience

Waking up was tough. If my workout wasn’t laid out for me, I wouldn’t have done it. But here I am afterwards, smiling, happy with myself for making it happen, and ready to go home for breakfast with my family and crush the day.
We tell our clients to ‘overcome’ and say things like ‘no excuses’. But it’s hard––even for us. Yet, we know that when we follow our own advice, it feels amazing!
In order to give you a good idea of what to expect in OTC, I thought that I’d share my experience as a client of the program
While I own the company, I don’t actively work in it.
Instead, I’m a client –– getting coached just like you would be if you decide to join us.
My goal has been hypertrophy.
Earlier this year crippling back pain forced me to seek treatment. X-rays showed degenerative disc disease. It was horrible.
I set out to train 5 days a week.
I wrote this note 10 weeks into the program.
Out of a possible 50 workouts, I logged 49.
For that, I’m very proud because it wasn’t been easy.
Just as one example, on Saturday, Oct 10, my city (Toronto) closed gyms again.
Because of COVID, I had to train in three different locations in two weeks alone!
None of those spaces were optimal. They all had minimal equipment.
Without the accountability of my OTC coach who made adjustments to my program based on equipment, there’s literally no way I’d have gotten my workouts in.
Yes, I’m motivated. Yes, I want this. But I would not have done it on my own.
Keeping track of my own workouts and adjusting my own programming right now is simply too much to handle.
These days, I’m going from 6am – 10pm without a chance to breathe.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
But, at the same time, there’s no time, space, or mental energy for me to keep track of my own workouts.
At the same time, I know that when I workout I feel better, think better, and am able to be more to the people I love.
For that reason, fitness comes first. Always. And without exception.
These days I’m driving to my sister’s house at 6am Mon-Fri for my workout.
Every morning when my alarm goes off my brain immediately makes up excuses of why I should stay in bed:
“You’re tired.” it says. “You’ll be more productive if you sleep a little longer.”
But I get out of bed.
And it sucks.
And every day it has gotten a bit easier. Day by day. Rep by rep. That’s how it goes.
It’s hard. That’s why most people don’t do it. And having a coach and program laid out for me that I believe in is what keeps me going.
Why?
Because nothing is more important than fitness and health.

In the ten weeks since I started OTC, my back pain subsided, I started brimming with energy, and I look better than I have in years
^^^I know that it sounds far-fetched. But none of that is hyperbole. (I have also been receiving treatment for my back throughout.)
Yes, I could build my own workout program but I also know that a world class coach will do a better job than me (and I could probably learn something).
And, honestly, I’ve always thought that if I’m not willing to invest into a coach for my own fitness, how could I possibly expect my clients to invest in me.
Anyway, I’ll stop here. I didn’t plan on writing this and it’s gotten longer than I intended.
It’s actually my 35th birthday today and after I click send I’m logging off to enjoy some time with my family. (*I originally wrote this on my 35th birthday.)
So I’ll end my message to you with this: My OTC experience has been life-changing.
Yes, I’m biased. But this is the truth.
With all of the craziness going on in the world right now, there’s never been a more important time to maximize your health.

Your primary goal must be either fat loss or muscle gain (understanding that you will achieve both on your program).
It’s okay if your fitness has fallen off in recent months. We’ll help you get back on track.
Your chosen program template will be adapted based on your previous injury history and equipment availability, which you’ll share with us in the intake form.
If, after going over your intake, we feel we cannot work with you in an optimal way, we will reach out and refund your registration fee.
This is not for beginners. You must have some experience in the gym. We only have options for intermediate and advanced programming.
This is not for athletes, physique competitors, or anybody wanting programming specific to an event or unique goal.
This is not for people who want to improve their max lifts. If you’re looking to max out your bench press, squat, and/or deadlift, OTC is not for you.
Finally, this is not for people who need corrective programming for an injury. We’ll ask you for your injury history and adapt your program to ensure you can safely perform all movements, but OTC is not designed to be rehabilitative or suited for those who need corrective work.
Your OTC coach will be happy to discuss strategies for good nutrition adherence, but you will not be provided with any nutritional programming, macro guidelines, or meal plans.
If Hypertrophy is your primary goal, you must have access to a gym*.
If Fat Loss is your primary goal, you will have the option to train in-home or in a gym. We have programs built for the gym and an in-home training environment. The in-home programs will require you have a minimum set of equipment handy, which are listed below for each goal so you can plan ahead if you don’t have it all right now.
Minimum equipment for in-home fat loss:
- Resistance bands/tubing
- Mini-Bands
- Sliders (paper plates on carpet or small dish towel on a tile or wood floor would suffice)
- Jump rope
- Suspension trainer
*If you’re training for hypertrophy and gyms in your area shut down mid-cohort, we’ll be able to shift you to a 3-day/wk hypertrophy program for in-home. The equipment required is similar to the equipment required for fat loss, you will just replace the suspension trainer with a dumbbell or kettlebell set.
Yes. A minimum 3-month commitment is required. You also have the option to upgrade for an additional 3 months at checkout.
The cost is $700 or $292/month for 3 months. If you put yourself on the wait list you will have an opportunity to save $200.
You will get the first phase of your program, access your private dashboard, and meet your coach the day before your cohort’s official start date.
If you aren’t 100% satisfied for any reason, you are free to request a prompt and courteous refund anytime within the first 30 days of your cohort’s official start date.
