Matt Shelvock is an avid powerlifting competitor, having placed first or second at a number of powerlifting events in Ontario. In 2011, he was privileged to represent Canada at the Arnold Classic Sports Festival in the yearly RAW championships.
Matt’s involvement with the fitness industry also extends into the realms of training and writing. He currently takes on clients by correspondence, consulting with them on diet and program design. Through his involvement with ON-fit.com and PumphouseNutrition.com, Matt has been privileged to publish work on a number of fitness experts including writers for Men’s Health, T-nation, and others.Matt has also been an invited guest speaker with respected health and fitness researchers Dr. Pete Lemon and Dr. John Berardi.
Matt has decided that while often very useful, being university-educated in a health/fitness-related discipline can only take a trainer so far. Blood, sweat, chalk, and personally reaching hundreds of individuals speak louder. Currently he specializes in implementing dietary habits and training methodologies for “hard-gainers” with limited time.
Matt is currently an MA candidate (Popular Music and Culture) at The University of Western Ontario. He feels fortunate to have trained several award winning musical artists.
