You study, you improve, and you put as much thought and effort into your clients' programs as possible. And that's great.

... Until it's not so great. Left-brain factors, like mechanical tension and progressive overload, pale in comparison to right-brain factors, like your client actually giving a crap about the program you've designed for him/her. So sometimes, as trainers, we need to take a step back from our beautifully constructed fitness plans and ask ourselves...are my clients actually enjoying their time with me? More specifically -- are their programs all work, all play, or have we found a healthy balance of the two?
