Over the course of a lifetime, most people will experience back pain at least once, if not many more times. In some instances, people injure their back when they are lifting weights. When this happens, many people think it’s best to do absolutely nothing but rest, and in most cases, this is anything but true. Unfortunately, many medical professionals, despite their best intentions, continue to dole out incredibly bad advice. In this article, Michael Mash discusses what to do when you are dealing with back pain, and provides some incredibly sound advice, including the importance of education, finding movements that are tolerable, training around the issue, and much more. This is also an extremely important topic for coaches to be aware of.
