The Strength Cruise

By Jonathan | On Oct 27, 2011 | 2 Comments | In Events

Tonight I want to drop a quick post to let you all know about something truly innovative and awesome.  First, a little background.

I go to a ton of conferences, workshops, symposiums, lectures etc.

As committed to education as I am you may be surprised to hear that I have an ulterior motive.  You see, you’re only as strong as the relationships you hold and the network you have.

Take my example.  I’m a no-name trainer from a country that the majority of the World doesn’t care about (sad but true).  Somehow I have managed to make friends with the best and it’s not because I’m super-smart.  It’s because every single workshop I go to I make sure to stay after and grab 5 minutes of the speakers time.  I don’t really care so much about the answer to my question.  My goal is to make friends.

5 Minutes isn’t enough

If you are like me and realize the importance of relationships you feel my pain.  That’s exactly why I jumped at the opportunity to take part in the Strength Cruise.  Coach Nick Tumminello has arranged for a conference to take place on a cruise to the Bahama’s (double-bomb).

There won’t be a better opportunity to listen to some great talks, mingle, and party with the industry elite for 4 days in the sun.

As if the schmoozing wasn’t enough

Coming from somebody who has almost gone bankrupt pursuing education this part really speaks to me.

Have a look at some numbers of what a conference will run you:

  • An average 3-day fitness conference will run you ~ $250-$350
  • Hotel room for 3 days at an average of $180 will run you ~ $540
  • Food for 3 days will run you ~ $60
  • Cab fare and entertainment will run you ~$50/night
Put that together and an average fitness conference will run you $1500+
The Strength Cruise itself costs a measly $360 for 3 nights which includes your room, all the food you can eat, and an awesome time in the Bahamas.  Tack on the conference for $147 and your total investment is $520.
You save over $1000!!!
Then there is the added benefit of having free reign to ask your favorite fitness pro as many questions as you like while partying it up in the Bahamas.  The value is priceless but consider the fact that all of these pros charge out at well over $100/hr.  Do the math and the value is easily over $3000 for the cruise.  Again, you’re paying $520.

The Details
